After having been a little sceptical if the concept with the Hardstyle DJ’s in the mainfloor will be successful, without any doubt I was proofed that it worked out much much better than expected!
The doors opened at 8pm when The Noizefreakz were on stage spinning their tracks from Early Hardstyle to the latest Nu-Style. For them it was a challenge to come back to vinyl as for the last year they started spinning with CDs only. But it worked out well and the first partyloverz came across the huge main floor at St. Jakobshalle.
The technical manager of Arrow Sound did pretty well with the sound system, the bass and kick was enormous and as well the light arrangement was colourful and interesting. A huge wall of LED were sparkling behind the DJ and in front a row of LCD monitors were fixed.
DJ Blackmail took over at 9.15pm when The Noizefreakz closed there set by spinning DJ Activator’s hit “Lullaby”. He made a special live performance which rocked the floor well.
Everybody was expecting Headhunterz when he was standing on the stages and the crowd already went crazy. Blutonium Boy finished his set and it was time for the big name of this evening. He played his hits as well as the Anthem of Defqon1 Australia by DJ Zany which was organized for the second time in Sydney.
After some Dutch Nu-Style inputs it was time for our Italian hero Technoboy. Once again the crowd ovated him while screaming “tech-no-boy”, “tech-no-boy”. It was indeed a great atmosphere. He rocked the place heavily.
The third in the row was The Prophet, the DJ dinosaur. He performed, in my opinion, one of the best set in this evening. It might be his experience which leads him to excite the people all the time for new.
Later on Philippe Rochard & Nu-Pulse (whose Podcast you can download now on the podcast section of this website by the way) made a great performance as well. Finishing with their smashing hit “The Survivors of Hardstyle” while standing on the desk, was a great closing of their set. The partyloverz went crazy clapping their hands applauding.
Final act this time was Lady Tom. She opened her set by playing her latest tracks in a medley. Still at this time, it was around 5am, the floor was still crowded very much. The party only last till 6am, not like earlier times at 8am.
To sum up, it was a great SONIC! Many people came and were able to listen to smashing performances of all DJ’s and as well to have a look at fascinating dance and fire performances.
Hopefully, this will continue like this!
